Pataphysica

Pataphysics may be best known as the occupation of a murder victim in the Beatles' song, "Maxwell's Silver Hammer". Alfred Jarry, who probably founded the Dada movement as well as the Theater of the Absurd, invented the science of imaginary solutions around the close of the nineteenth century. Pataphysica collects the thoughts of contemporary pataphysicists, pataphysicians, and scholars. They awaken the discipline for our century while writing on subjects as diverse as the Theater of Pure Form, baseball, minute measurement, laughter, language, and the infinite sphere.
