Columbus Park

Columbus park is a wonderful book which follows the adventure of a young bear and his friends. This book is based in a Canadian forest where animals and humans tolerate each other. The beginning of the book introduces the characters of the book and as young animals, every day is an adventure. Jobe the young bear is the focal point of the story, he is young and his mother is protective of him. Scar Jobe's father was chased into the mountain by humans whose thirst for blood compromised the whole group. In order to keep them safe, Scar spends most of his time in isolation but through the forest communicators keeps a remote eye on his partner Heti and their young son Jobe.

Over the chapters of the book you will follow the adventure and trials of the young animals who enjoy the days of early spring in a warm year for the forest. Jobe is eager to learn and in his quest for education he had, like all youngsters some high points but some low and worrying points. Following the warm and dry spring after a very cold winter, the forest is consumed with fire and as the young group struggle to survive a frantic Jobe takes control in the absence of his father. Heti struggle with her son growing up and the fact her partner and Jobe's father is not around to assist and help with the basic family values that we all have to come to terms with.

Follow the amazing adventures of the colony of animals trying to live side by side with humans who has a wanton desire to control the world of animals. This is the first in a series of books from Columbus Park and comes from the author of Chronicles of Nutwood Grove.

Enjoy this tale of survival and see what happen as the year grows old and the trials and trivialities take a toll on the colony.
