Genesis Helms has lived in Zone Four of the Angel Sanction her entire life. Zone Four is known for being the most dangerous Partial (imperfect people) area of the Sanction next to the mysterious, quarantined Zone Five. From being orphaned on the day of her birth to seventeen years later being mistreated by the residents of Fault, that conception of her home became a horrid fact of her life. Forbidden to be in public when the white-clad Ideal (perfect people) scoutsmen of Center Angel Sanction make their regular trip into town, Gena is faced with her fate of being a Partial for the rest of her life from the pleas of her best friend, Roman, or taking the hand of the handsome Ayce McCarthey and venturing within the White Walls to live the life she has dreamed of.
